Being Mommy

Every toddler girl must go through this phase where being a Mom is fascinating. Is it really because they want to be nurturing and loving or is it purely a control issue?

Lately, Ashley loves to play 'Mommy.' She takes her doll or dolls and would cradle them, feed them, puts them down for nite-nite, even give them time outs.

"babeee, no."
*flump* as she shoves the baby doll by the corner. (That's the time out corner.)
"no! no! blabberblabberblabber"

seconds later she drags the doll by her hand...into the other room.
"bottle?"
she cradles the doll and pretended to feed her.
"poopoo!"
she gasps as she sniffs the doll's behind
"changee changee!"

"nite nite?"
gently, she takes the doll upstairs in her arms and puts the doll on her bed.
"blabberblabberblabber"
puts the blanket on the doll walks out of the room and closes the door behind her.


It is actually quite telling at times what she experienced during the day or days before when she would act it out on her doll. I guess it's good but scary, isn't it?
