Testing her limits

We have now entered the testing of limits... pushing my buttons, battling of wills.

"Ashley, get in your car seat, we have to go."
"oook"
She climbed in her car seat but refused to sit down.
"Sit down please."
She smiled defiantly but still refused to sit down.
"Sit down."
"Sit down. Mommy is very late. You make Mommy late to work everyday."
Silence.
"Ashley, sit NOW!"
Still grinning but looking less happy.
I picked her up, shoved her in her seat. As I was buckling her in ... RESISTANCE.
"Ashley's turn! Ashley's turn!!" (Her term for Ashley do it herself.) All at the same time kicking and screaming.
"Mommy told you to sit. You didn't sit."
More kicking and screaming ...
I ran out of patience and unbuckled her
"Fine, sit down yourself!"
She got out of her car seat, climbed back in and sat down. With only one forced tear down her cheek.

"Ashley, when Mommy ask you to sit down, you sit."
She stared at me unwillingly.
Busted out a HUGE smile.
"OK, Mommy."
